Our pharmacist Grace Leung, invited by S.U.CC.E.S.S, gives a talk on BC Fair Pharmacare at Richmond Public Library on July 3rd.

Richmond is a multicultural city with immigrants from diverse backgrounds. Among them, many are seniors who have special medical needs but lack the knowledge of the medication system in Canada. To help the seniors better understand their medication benefits, Grace introduces the Fair Pharmacare program to the participants and explains some basic terms, including the “deductible”, “family maximum”, “brand drugs” and “generic drugs”.

As an essential part of Canadian healthcare system, pharmacies are not only a place for customers to get their medication but also a reliable source for medical knowledge. Grace illustrates the services provided by the pharmacy, including prescription consultations, medication reviews, blister packaging and cigarette cessation assistance.

As a local community pharmacy, MJ’s Pharmacy strives to help the local community gain a better understanding of their medications and medical conditions.
